mt32-pi + DAC setup advices

Unread post by DanHero »

I just bought a innomaker Rpi HiFi DAC Hat to improve my mt32-pi sound output, I got it with a nice discount and I love to use the mt32-pi with Mister and (mainly) with my actual Sharp x68000. The sound is surely better than the one coming out from the standard raspberry jack, but I'd like to know if something might be tweaked to improve the performance even better. So far, my cfg is the one attached.

If you got any hint I'd be super glad to learn from you.

You could set resampler_quality to best, maybe fiddle with the resampler frequency a bit. It's just not very likely that you're going to get much tangible improvement over what you already have. The MT-32 with its 32KHz. internal sample rate was not professional music gear to begin with when it came out, so you're not going to get that out of an emulator of it either.
