Sonic Wings/Aero Fighters

Unread post by billythefisherman »

Hi all is the Sonic Wings/Areo Fighters arcade series available? I know its on the Neo Geo core but I would like to play it in TATE mode as the original arcade was which the Neo Geo core doesnt support. Was the original arcade not just Neo Geo hardware underneath or was it ported to Neo Geo?

Yup, it is. You can play the original arcade version as a Saturn port in TATE-mode on Sergey Dvodnenko's Saturn core.

Only Aero Fighters 2/Sonic Wings 2 and Aero Fighters 3/Sonic Wings 3 were on Neo Geo hardware. The first entry was on a dedicated hardware. While the first game ran in Tate mode the other 2 didn't.

Great stuff thanks: thats a fantastic work around to not having the original arcade core.
