Can't Load KERN.ROM
Can't Load KERN.ROM
So... I've tried a bunch of different rom files. I've even tried populating Amiga/KERN.ROM.
The screen I'm getting has white vertical bars and text ... telling me I've selected a 68020 with 2M chip and 8M fast... and that it can load KERN.ROM ... even if I've selected a file named differently --- or if I've populated that file.
any tips?

Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
hrnh... no. I'm copying the rom from a file amiga-os-310-a4000.rom ... and yes... it's kick.rom
... that mixup is due to my having played with a few systems last night.
But the Amiga is still not loading with that message.

No. I'm not. I have a set of ROM files that I've used on various emulators over the years.
Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
Ok. So as you can see on the screen... I've tried a number of different boot patterns. 8M fast / 2M chip AGA 68020 a1200 and 2M fast / 512 chip ECS and OCS a600. It doesn't seem to go. (see attached png)

Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
Note... that the ROM in each case is loaded by selecting from a list in the OSD.

Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
Do you always have these vertical lines on the screen? Looks to me like faulty SD-Ram.
Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
Those really look like roms from AmigaForever, just from the naming and what you have available there, heck... some of them are OS 3.X kickstarts.
Easy test, how large are they?
524288 bytes - original kickstart
524299 bytes - AmigaForever

Re: Can't Load KERN.ROM
Well... the SRAM appears to work find for the C=64 core. I realize Amiga uses a lot more. Does this thing have a RAM test core?
