My MiSTer seemed a bit crashy after a recent update (random reboots in some cores, and particularly when fiddling with core settings). In my case it was just an underpowered PSU (which had seemed OK-ish on older versions). Got myself a 4A PSU and no stability problems since.

It must not necessarily be underpowered, it may got faulty over time. The type if PSUs we all use with our MiSTer (phone charger, etc.) are not not known for their long life cycles. These things are proun to fail after a few years of constant use. In most cases they simply don't do what they are meant to do any more: supply a constant current within the defined specs.
