MiSTer Bluetooth Controller plays fine then randomly will lock up

Hello,

Been having this issue for a while now and really at my wit's end with it.

My issue is that randomly after playing for some time with a bluetooth controller (8bitdo N64 or PS5 DualShock) the controller will seemingly lockup and just repeat the same button over and over again as if it's stuck in some kind of turbo mode. This happens randomly and once it occurs there is no fixing it without restarting the MiSTer.

My setup involves the MiSTer going into an AVR, then the AVR to the TV

I've read about HDMI issues and have tried the following to remedy it to no avail:

New power supply
HDMI CEC defeat plug
HDMI booster adapter
3x different BT adapters, one with a long antenna
Fresh install on a new SD card
Shorter HDMI cable lengths

The issue persists... happens with various cores ranging from PSX, N64, SNES, etc.

Is there anything I missed with troubleshooting this? Any advice is appreciated

Had the Same kind issue, but not as yours but it looks like the Same ontdoen…not sure it was after a update or not.
But never had this problem, but i think it was after Some update for the n64 update.

Before i had no issues, and start to play the n64 core with the brawler.. but it cam totoly be a coincidense!
Problem was with the sn30 controller , Turns out one 8bit do v1 dongle wich was not not connected to a controller jams the one wich was paired.
Wich lead to repeatedly button presses of the sn30.. If the v1 dongle was connected to the brawler controller , all is fine.
I have Several 8bitdo dongles in mine mister. And leave them in. For over 2 years never a problem. When I want to play a specific core. I get the controller and power it on and it makes a connection. And I can play.

Could be , that mine v1 8bit do dongle is defect Some how.. or that is causing some weird erratic behaviour on a other dongle if its not connected.

Have a different v1 dongle on the way to rule it out that mine v1 dongle is defective… bought a second hand v1 dongle of market place.

I can get out of it, and no need to reset mister. Mine problem is tied to the v1 dongle

USB HUB is "USB-2.1-SS-BRKT USB Hub with DC Splitter + Switch + USB Bracket" from Mister Addons

It has a link (?) plug between the bottom USB board to the middle board, then power into the DC +5V port in the upper right corner.

Power supply is the Mean Well GST25A05-P1J

For adapters... I've used this one from MisterAddons "WIFI+BT Bluetooth and WiFi USB Adapters - WiFi 600 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.2"

All produce the same issue. It recently happened the other day while playing DoDonPachi arcade core after maybe 20 minutes, all is well then one ship gets stuck in the corner and becomes totally unresponsive, shooting is also stuck on. Controllers are still on showing a BT light, fully charged.

Power supply and hub are probably fine but it does sound power related, I'd be inclined to stick with the adapter from MiSTerAddons as it's a known to work well.

• Have you got any other USB peripherals plugged in?

• Does it happen with USB controllers (disconnect the bluetooth adapter)?

• Have you tested your micro SD cards with h2testw?

• Is your installation up-to-date and are you using the latest .ini file format?

• Does your memory test ok?

• Have you tried re-seating the USB hub and trying another bridge?

Did Some testing , and In mine case turns out a problem in the 8bitdo dongle.
Did downgrade the dongle, and problem went away. Did upgrade the dongle to the newest firmware, wich it alreade had, and problem stay away..
