Request Aka to Blue (shmup)

Unread post by Alf »

There was once a company called Cave that made the best bullet hell shmups in this part of the galaxy.
A couple of ex Cave employees then made their own studio and created Aka to Blue;

PCB can be bought here:
https://exa.ac/product/aka-blue-type-r/?v=0f177369a3b7

The game is supposed to be really good and the genre of shmups is in a bad state, starving for good titles.
The only problem is, Aka to Blue was released to mobile and arcade only.

People are now afraid this little gem is going to fade to obscurity.

I think from 2012, CAVE moved on from the 68000 and CV1000 based hardware and everything since was released on generic x86/64 boards. This obviously wouldn't be feasible on MiSTer and CV1000 has already been ruled out due to the SH-3 and custom GPU.

CV1000 games:
Mushihimesama
Puzzle! Mushihimetama
Ibara
Espgaluda II
Ibara Kuro: Black Label
Pink Sweets Ibara Sorekara~
Mushihimesama Futari
Muchi Muchi Pork!
Deathsmiles
Mushihimesama Futari: Black Label
DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu
Deathsmiles Mega Black Label
DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu: Black Label
Akai Katana
Mushihimesama Cave Festival Ver. 1.5
DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou

I'm quite hopeful for the genre, it's niche but they are consistently getting published to modern platforms like the Switch and Steam.

Thanks for the list.
I was afraid something like that would be the case but hopeful the developers used some other hardware for this game, considering it's also on mobile.

@RCAVictorCo is taking a look at CV1000, so there might be hope still:

Aka to Blue arcade runs on an EXA, which is basically a PC. It is well beyond the capability of the MiSTer. There are also no known dumps of this game and I suspect EXA would be very protective of their IP if one were to surface.

The game is currently available for sale, why would you want to have it run on mister? It's an arcade game that currently generates income. You can buy a motherboard and the game to play at home and you will have it forever. I'm not sure what you are asking?
