I just tried this core version, it worked for me, but only after I switched to NTSC. On PAL not even the Jaguar logo was rendered correct. No big deal as even the games developed in Europe where aimed mostly to the NTSC market, so every Jaguar game should run as intended in NTSC but not vice versa (Dragon's Lair requires 60Hz to run correct).

Very Unlikely to occur judging by Discord comments by the Devs. That it even runs at all is amazing. You have nothing to lose going dual ram other than dual output to a CRT and HDMI at the same time.

Dual ram costs money. Before jumping in, perhaps it'd be wise to wait for a compatibility chart or at least a bit more information about how this core performs. A few comments about how games "work" or are "playable" isn't really saying much.

I don't have the link handy, but there is a compatibility Google sheet going and something like 82% of the library is currently marked as playable. I've been testing it myself and just about everything I've thrown at it works...seems like there's only a few official titles left that don't boot at all.

Not that much, I bought mine off Taki for £15.83. Which is a load cheaper than everyone else that sells it for 50 quid!

That's great, but once again, "playable" can mean different levels of accuracy. If it's really "near to the entire retail library of games runs either 1:1 with real hardware or near to 1:1" as VGEsoterica claims then that's pretty impressive, but I'd like to see this confirmed from some other sources.

If that's true, I might consider turning one of my MiSTer's into dual ram setup, now that the memory got cheaper. But, The BigP emu is pretty good as it is, and it's far from my favourite console, so it might take some time.

if its a single ram build its not the current build from Discord. The latest builds are dual ram only.

In Short Everything. More Games boot , more Games run. The dual Ram is needed for memory bandwidth. Simply there is no comparison.

I've asked the dev (greyrogue) about this core's accuracy and compatibility on another forum, and he was kind enough to provide a couple of very in-depth replies, that went even past the original question. It's a rather interesting read which you can find here.

The short of it is that most games should be, in greyrogue's words, "close enough that most people can't tell the difference". That's a real progress and definitely makes the core worth checking out.

Just wondering. Some games require a huge lot of buttons (e.g., numeric keypad). Is it possible to use keyboard buttons in such case?
