Cheat Codes for Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Encounters (Mew)

Unread post by Greyfield »

Hello,

I'm curious if any users here have been successful in activating any of the Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen encounter cheats, and if so, how they did it. I've been trying multiple ways to trigger a Mew encounter in FireRed for my young son without luck. This Pokemon, in particular, was in the original Red, Blue, and Yellow versions, and was added to the code of the FireRed and LeafGreen remakes, but for whatever reason was never made accessible to players.

I'm not sure if it's a simple lack of understanding on my end on how to activate the cheat(s) once selected, or if there is an issue with the cheats not working or being incomplete.

As some background:

  • When trying to search how others modified encounters in GBA emulators, players activated a "Master Code" cheat and then activated a "Mew" encounter cheat. After both were activated, an encounter occurred with Mew instead of a typical encounter with a wild pokemon.

  • The FireRed and LeafGreen cheat packs do not include any cheats that appear to be a master cheat or code, unless I'm missing it.

  • The cheats are downloaded to the Mister as a pack from GameHacking.org during a typical system update, e.g., from https://gamehacking.org/game/5632. There are four "Master Codes" that are flagged as "Must be on" and one "Encounter Main Code" that are not included with a Mister download, so it's possible something is missing from somewhere

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right forum to help, since I'm not sure if it's a Mister issue, GBA core issue, GameHacking.org issue, or simply my lack of understanding. Any help you can provide or documentation you could point me to to try learn more more on how to activate these encounters would be appreciated!

Best,

the cheat files can be edited in a text editor if you know the codes you want.
that aside i did some google searching>
you may need to get mew from another game (Pokemon Emerald) then trade it>
there is a core for gba2p which lets to load two roms and emulates a link cable
so in theory maybe what you want is accomplishable this way.
