MT32-pi lite rev.2 Not Being Recognised

Unread post by freemchr »

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded my PSU on my MiSTer, and installed a MiSTer A/V Pro v9.2 board on it, which has been working flawlessly. I purchased a MT32-pi lite rev.2 and have been trying to get it working, but for some reason no matter what I do, it does not come up in any menus, and it looks like its either not working, or has no power to it.

However when i touch it it feels warm, so presuming it has power. I can also notice a little green light flashing inside, so again presuming its working, but maybe not configured properly.

Just wondering what I can do to get this working? Presuming its a software issue, or configuration issue.

Appreciate your help and guidance.

Just plugged the M32-pi Lite into a MiSTerPi which has a similar configuration to my OG MiSTer, and the menu came up straight away in the a0486 core.

Took it out, plugged it back into the OG MiSTer, worked.

Shut it down, took out the SD Card on the MT32pi. Loaded a soundfont to it, and some ROM files, plugged it back in, and not recognised again.

Was using Windows 11 to copy and paste the files in.

I'm guessing a) you aren't using a SanDisk-branded SD card, and b) you should be.

Feels a bit like you have a file system issue that was created after you last wrote to the card. Did you check that the file system is clean and the Pi boots up cleanly?

I feel embarassed to say, but realised that the USB connectors were not connected properly. As much as the Pi Lite i pushed against the side of the case, and made it straight, then it didnt work. If I pushed on the side where the USB connector is then it came up. Its one of the OG MisterFPGA cases, so presuming there was enough room for the connectors, but looks like not.
