8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 + DualShock4 - which mode?

Unread post by crusher »

I'm planning to use a 8bitDo USB Wireless 2 Adapter + DualShock4 controller for the PS1 core.
The USB adapter can operate in these modes:

Xinput
Dinput
Mac
PSC
Switch
MD

Which one is recommended for:

lowest input lag
analog sticks (D-Pad) working
rumble working

?

Going to have to go with whatever the manufacturer says on rumble - other than that, DInput, every time all the time.

Thanks for your answer!
I will try DInput mode and see if everything is working.

With DInput rumble is not working!

I switched the controller to XInput and rumble is working now, also the analog stick.
For everybody having problems be sure to define controller buttons correctly in Mister main menu.
Analog stick is asked for at the beginning and in the end of the button defining process.
In the beginning it's called "Tilt right" + "Tilt down" and in the end something like "Toggle Input" (from my memory).

Thread can be closed.

The big issue with Xinput is that every controller that identifies itself as Xinput will have the same physical mapping, but the logical mapping is invariably very different, meaning you can't easily swap between two controllers (e.g. SNES layout and Megadrive layout) without remapping every time.
