I was just wondering if the DBG message at the top-left can be disabled in the nightly builds? Is there a setting that I missed? I feel that the core is good enough that I can use it for my regular PS1 gaming, but this part is a little distracting.

I think the DBG message comes only if you changed any one of the Debug options away from its default value. If everything's default, it won't show.

I had this too, when I first walked through the settings I activated CD Instant Seek, because it sounded like something I would always have turned on.

Well there's quite a few options and the default options aren't marked as such, but I'll have a look. Thanks!

Just reset the settings and look what you may have changed. The core works fine with default settings.

Is there a way to get the original System menu (the grey one) that came on older PlayStation consoles?

You can change the BIOS rom, but as this core is still an unstable version FPGAzumSpass stated the he is testing and developing with this specific version of the BIOS. Because of this it might be wise to stick with the given BIOS-Rom till support for other BIOS versions is implemented officially into the core.

+1 to that. I never tried the core as my config is direct video only and always got sync problem. Now it seems resolve, i tried the today's build. With chd support i manage to finally try the core and it is working so good...
Sure it's not perfect but most game i tried are playable with surprisingly low glitch.
Next month will be crazy.

yes sir. NTSC TV, RGBs on a HDMI to VGA cable/adapter.
It works fine (image centered as many other mister cores) without any special modeline command.
The image is still a little shaky or blurry on some pixels, most noticeable during boot on SCEA text.
Would it be related to a progressive/interlaced image not properly implemented so far?

Thanks! I will check it out this weekend. If the image is originally interlaced for certain games/scenes and the core doesn't support interlaced modes (does it??) then it would definitely make it not look right.

Core definitively support interlace, a lot of menu, cutscene are in interlace and are working fine. I tried tekken 3 for exemple, cutscene have sync problem, but the game by itself is working with some problems.

EDIT & UPDATE: So apparently I've been accessing it the wrong way...
However if I access
UNSTABLE at the root of my SD directory I discover several different nightly cores. I did not know this was there. Apparently the latest is at the bottom. Tried the ones at the top, at least 3 were giving me the grim screen of doom.
Once I tried the bottom one everything worked and all is
Good times
Btw if you want to clean up old cores you can create the
unstable-update_psx-nightlies.ini with the maxkeep option. Where 10 is the maximum number of unstable PSX cores to keep by deleting the older ones.

hmmm, weird. both of these games work fine with the latest build (PSX_unstable_20220221_157452.rbf). im using chd files and noticed no issues so far. games work good and all the sounds are present.
i had issues with the core also. i decided to wipe my sdcard and perform a fresh mister install. after that psx core seems to work very well.
Thanks, CHD's are working fine, BIN/CUE (single BIN) give me issues 50% of the time.
This go at the root of my Mister folder
(media/fat) or should I place this in one of the Playstation folders? If the latter which one? Unstable?

I have been using a docker image and git pulling the latest commits from github. It's nice to build when I need a new build.
So far bin/cue files are working fine for me.

Gran Turismo 1 and 2 intro videos go out of sync with latest builds. The problem is just the intro video, the menu and in-game works fine.
Those were fine last month.

I have a set of .CHD files. Does anyone know how to send each CHD file to a separate folder without doing it one-by-one?

Just tried this for the first time, really impressed. And, on a CRT, the PS1 looks so much better than running a software emulator with shaders.
One question, would it be possible, in the future, to browse a directory for games ? I would like to keep directories of shmups, platformers, rpg, racing, etc.... At the moment, it seems you can only have one game in each folder, and that folder has to be named the same as the file.

Just put the folders with the games in subfolders calles "shmups", "rpg", etc,
