I read the thread, but I was asking if there is a way to run update_all that will keep all my existing cheats without having to do any renaming of folders prior.

Renaming the cheats folder is not really a solution, i agree!
It works, but when using the update_all skript ones a day than this is not really a great way to get rid of stressing the sd card.

You need to do this for that.
Cheats are now fixed on gamehacking.org so they take much less time to update. There is no much point in doing all of that anymoreSo, if you already have a Cheats folder and you'd like to keep it untouched, you may do the following 3 steps:
-1. Rename the Cheats something else.
-2. Add the negative filter "!cheats" to downloader.ini (see documentation for more details), and run downloader/update_all.
-3. Restore the original name of the Cheats folder.
That way, you won't have it updated nor removed ever again.
