I wanted to give a big thanks for making Action 52 run. No, it's not sarcasm. That collection is not just bad, it's The Room-grade bad. So bad it's cute.

What game are you trying to run? This mapper is for only one Chinese translation, so if it's not that one your ROM may have an incorrect header.

Tenchi o Kurau II: Shokatsu Koumei Den Chinese version, this game is the Chinese version of most Chinese players’ favorite NES RPG game, using mapper198

Out of interest, are there any other Chinese games you know are popular but aren't supported or you would like to play but can't? We don't seem to have many Chinese MiSTer users on the board, so there isn't much insight into what Chinese language games are popular that may not be supported.

Mapper 52 please! I want to play the legendary Mario 7 in 1, authentically. Its the 7 grand dad bootleg.
For a bit of historical curiosity, I'd like to bring attention to Mapper 534. The reason is that supporting this mapper would technically bring support for yet another console to MiSTer: the original Atari Flashback console. Unlike all other Flashback consoles which either emulate Atari 2600 or, in the case of Atari Flashback 2, recreate its hardware, Atari Flashback 1 is a NES-on-a-chip console with all Atari games remade from scratch for Famicom-like hardware. The extracted system rom from this console can be played on NES emulators which support Mapper 534. Those game recreations are not necessary good, but they are among the most unusual aftermarket games for the platform.

@MostroW the link you provided to your little prog no longer works! Can you please update?
Thank you
It doesn't seem to be supported by any emulators that I can see.

In this thread from https://forums.nesdev.org/viewtopic.php?t=2139 post #3 Memblers mentions he requested kevtris reserve mapper 124 for squeedo. I'm assuming "Super Game Mega Type III" is just another cart that uses the squeedo pcb and mapper?
I'm requesting this mapper because I was hoping to dump the rom from this custom cartridge named MIDINES and use it with the MiSTer. I have a USB CopyNES and the Open Source Cartridge Reader and I've had limited success dumping the rom so far and neither program support this mapper. I found the mapper text file on Memblers site https://membler-industries.com/squeedo/2004_version/
Is there a specific file format for NES mappers? Can this be used to add this mapper to the core? Is this even a mapper file?
Thanks

That file is just documenting how it works. Mappers aren't added by a specific file, they have to be emulated/simulated with code.

I haven't read through the entire thread but I'm sure somebody has mentioned the MMC6 in Star Tropics and Star Tropics II: Zoda's Revenge. This one should be pretty easy, actually. From what I've seen, the MMC6 is almost identical to the MMC3, but has additional functionality for memory write protection that it doesn't even actually use. The current fix is to patch the header to say it's an MMC3 instead, which the NES core plays perfectly. The fix should be as simple as changing the header detection to treat the MMC6 the same as the MMC3.

@Antoine.WG I thought it works properly if you're using a NES2.0 header, no?

Yeah, just use NES 2.0 headers and it fixes Startropics and Startropics II
