Its not an official core. Its a Jotego core and he never dates his cores. Its also a very wierd hybrid, Jotego writes arcade cores and this one has a very obscure way to load roms. I would say wait until it corrected to act as every other console

I tried these names for the ngp core but still no game runs, the rbf came from the update all, is the core out of date? Because on main menu console it doesnt show any date just like the other cores.

that's why it doesnt load any game even with bios?

Actually, all versions released after NeoGeoPocket_20240816.rbf behave incorrectly for me.
I have also opened an issue about this !
An alternative is the color version of the core, which works very well but requires an MRA.

To start a game:

  • Press the power button mapped to your gamepad, which results in a white screen.
  • Load the game from the OSD.

Here is the August 16 version (which works perfectly) :

Just tried this rbf you provided, after I select the core, the OSD menu doesnt show up whenwhen I press on the board. I use a tv crt, is any other settings necessary for it to work?

Were you able to access the OSD menu with the latest version of the core on your CRT screen ?

No, after I select the core on consoles list, it just shows a black screen, even pressing the osd button on mister board nothing happens. This on my crt.

I may have a solution. Could you share your MiSTer.ini file?
Also, what refresh rates does your CRT TV support?

here is my ini file.

At the end of the ini file I added that part for the [menu] as recommended by a user from here so I could run update all script and see whats going on directly on the crt tv.

I use vga -> component cable.And I use a trinitron 21', I dont know what refresh rates it uses. It's a kv-21fv model

Ok, I will try it later after work.

I see from your screen that crt scale enable is off, I will connect again first to hdmi tv and set it to off as well.

Also, do you have any boot file in the folder? Because from update all it didnt download any bios.

I have it in: /bootrom/NeoGeoPocket.rom directory

So do you need a bios or not? I'm seeing both yes and no and am not sure what is true. I have the same issue with just a white screen where nothing happens, and I tried re-mapping my controller and using every button and it seems to make no difference or turn it "on" or anything I attempt both before and after I load a NGP file. I tried using update_all to update to the latest version of the core too.

Also, my MiSTer does not appear to have a /bootrom/ directory, but all my other cores that use a bios/bootrom work fine.

/bootrom is a very old way of doing it on a Mister.

We are just going to have to wait for the code to become public and another dev add loading of roms as per the other console cores.
