Well you never know what happens in peoples lives, if they're busy with family, or illness.
I mean a great friend of the Zx-Uno community died this year, very young as well.
One day you may visit, and it's alive with a github. Here's hoping.
Perhaps. In this case, I think it's a bit more straightforward...it was plainly evident from the start the creator was a bit of a dreamer that was probably in deeply over their head. Everyone has to start somewhere, but in this case I genuinely believe it was someone with a lot of big ideas without the actual know-how or means to implement them. It happens (a lot).
This project isn't dead. Its been on hold for a while due to a few factors
1) Waiting for the C128 core to stabilize so I wouldn't have to rebase every week.
2) I spent alot of 2024 sick with covid, pneumonia, and diabetic infections.
3) I was stuck on an IRQ problem with the 65816 that I may now be able to solve. It may be there is no problem with the 65816 core at all and the problem is actually in the kernel and it having invalid data at vector addresses that the 65816 actually uses.
I am going to try the VICE SCPU64 kernel with the 65816 core and see if it still has the problem. I suspect it won't. If it works, then I'll move to patching the C128 kernel to fix it.
please note that I also don't track this site closely, especially when the negativity goes up.
Sadly it seems to be the norm with a lot of various retro communities ..
That said, I personally am looking forward to what you create and will enjoy taking it out for a spin.. thanks for your efforts in advance.. despite the negative neds/nancy's out there, a vast majority of us are actually really excited and happy to get new cores to play with and enjoy.. sadly they don't typically post their joy .. and its only the vocal minority that we unfortunately hear more often.. please ignore those people.
I'm not entirely certain what negativity is being referred to, honestly. On the whole, especially the MiSTer community is generally regarded as one of the most chill and welcoming there is.
Has anyone any info on the SID that was reference in the original post.
16581 SID Extreme
Link doesb't seem to work anymore.
Thanks
Ah, ignore, found it in the roadmap on googledocs.
Audio

Wow I though 2 and 3 sid songs were impressive, imagine 4!!!
Now imagine 8 SIDs:
