For people having issues to use the core in CDZ mode with Unibios - don't forget to switch the Unibios itself to CDZ (hit Select in the main menu - see http://unibios.free.fr/cdsystem.html).
I have seen some tweets claiming this release is now "official". Does this mean it will get downloaded via update_all, and we don't need unstable builds anymore?

Does anyone know if each CHD should be in its own subdirectory, a la the other CD system cores?
i've never played it before but i can faintly recall people were quite enthousiastic about Samurai Spirits (Shodown) RPG.
though it was only released in Japanese, i think there should be a translation out there as well these days, if you're into RPG's that is.

As far as I can tell from googling there isn't a working translation of this quite yet.

Not sure if it's a standard issue with CHDs (first time I've attempted to use them), but they seemingly take a very long time to load for each Neo Geo CD game. Once past the initial loading, things are a lot quicker.
I've set the CD speed to x4 in the MiSTer core configuration. I tried to set the core type to CDZ but that results in games not loading seemingly, so kept it as "CD".
samurai shodown rpg now playable?
The Top-loader System rom does not support the higher speeds properly and will load very slowly if you set it too high. It is best to use the cd version of the Unibios which is a modified CDZ rom.

I downloaded Gowkaizer CHD. I know it's awesome on NGCD since it has a new OST with dramatic lyrics! Problem is, there are no sound effects, voices and stuff, only the soundtrack. Dunno 1) if it's a problem of the dump I got or 2) it's an issue with the core. It should be, it is still young. Can you confirm for me?
isn't there a checksum list of known working dumps for the Neo Geo CD?
else load it up in an emulator and see if it works i'd say?
Has anyone made a mgl file for the CD yet? I made one last night but it only takes me to a black screen once I choose a CHD. Here's what it says:

I have all the CD games in a folder called NeoGeo-CD in the games directory on the SD card, which is the only storage this mister has. I put each CHD in its own folder.

started a game via the cue file but only see an audio cd player. maybe the wrong romset?
edit: also i can't open the unibios config menu to set chd. pushing select does nothing.
edit2: in cdz mode i only get a white picture after loading a chd.
ok, I did my tests and something's wrong: when the boot sequence starts, it is totally silent, there should be a sound effect when the Neo Geo CD logo spins around the CD. I put CD unibios in the neo geo folder and top-sp1.bin as well, I don't know what I'm missing.

that doesn't work for me. where do i've push select to enter the configuration menu? in the cd player screen? pushing slect does nothing for me. do i need a special bios?

At the CD Player screen, yes. Get the unibios from here http://unibios.free.fr/download.html. Check the screenshot here for that system select menu http://unibios.free.fr/cdsystem.html
Unibios setting for CDZ pressing select works great for me; only problem I get no sound during boot animation, dunno if it is normal. Classic bios delivers correct sound.

i've already copied the v3.3 universe cd bios in the bios folder from neo geo (don't know the exact path. i'm not home and can't check) but it didn't work. do i've to rename it and replace the exisiting universe bios in the folder? sorry for noob questions.
