Kung Fu Master Core Broken?

Used to work, now doesn't.

It boots, and then blacks out after about 3 seconds. Other arcade cores still work (just to make sure it wasn't system wide or something).

My setup: vga to component, retail crt.

Anyone else have this issue?

Does this game need any special config for playing on a CRT TV?
Rest of games work fine but Popeye and Kung Fu Master don't.

Kung Fu Master runs at around 50hz on my VGA CRT, does your TV support that frequency?

Works fine on my hdtv. It blacks out a couple times, but eventually loads. I just have to fiddle with it. It has played on my crt before. I know how to tweak the ini a bit better now.

I did upload the exact rom version. 223 I think. And deleted the cfg just in case.

If it seems to 'not be working', just give the game a good solid minute- and it might still load. Just brainstorming.

So what was the solution? I’ve got terrible screen tearing. Looks like a resolution problem with the various CRT settings (e.g. frequency, back porch, etc). Thanks for any help. I’m using a Sony WEGA 27” CRT connected via component through the MISTER IO board.

Thanks,
Bret
