Best Golf Game For The MiSTer?
Hey everyone,
Been playing some Neo Turf Masters and it is a great golf game. I'm not into sports games really but a good golf game can be a lot of fun to
play with some friends.
Just wondering what other golf games one would recommend that could be played on the mister?
Love to hear your suggestions.
Or is Turf Masters just the king of them all?

The Mario Golf game on the GBA is great - has RPG-lite elements to it, can't recommend it enough.

Nothing beats Neo Turf Masters as the greatest golfing game in the history of video gaming.
I enjoyed 'Leaderboard' on the Atari ST - there's also an Amiga version too.

Just looked up Leaderboard, looks really interesting. I dont have experience with the amiga or atari ST, but looks like a good reason to start exploring these cores.
Thanks for the tip!

T&E SOFT golf games. They did games for most platforms, but these are the best IMHO. I've written guides for most of them, see GameFAQS.
MD
- Harukanaru Augusta
- Pebble Beach no Hatou
- Waialae no Kiseki
- Devil's Course
I prefer the Japanese versions for their dithered graphics and some other details, but there are USA equivalents of each. CPU Turbo makes these games feel very modern.
SNES
- Pebble Beach no Hatou NEW: Tournament Edition
- Masters New: Harukanaru Augusta 3
These two are as good as the Saturn, 3DO and CDi versions. They use some hardware tricks so I'd be interested how they run on the MiSTer. I'm yet to try them.
Other developers:
MSX
- The Golf (Pack-In-Video)
Amiga/ST/DOS
- Microprose Golf aka David Leadbetter's Greens (Microprose)

Re: Best Golf Game For The MiSTer?
Depends on the system really, I can't say which one is best overall since it's relative to that system's capabilities and it's time it was released.
NES:
Golf (literally) - I think this is one of the best Golf games out there since it got all sorts of people that never would play any video games to actually play video games. Like my Grandpa who golfed for almost 70 years, until recently (too old), to actually play the NES.
Gameboy:
Golf - Again, a port of the NES game essentially. Another classic since it was something that could get people to play games who would never otherwise play games.
SNES:
Kirby's Dream Course - This is not actually golf, it's kinda just fun casual golf, sorta like NBA Jam was to basketball. Great game.
Genesis:
Battle Golfer - It's a freaking Golfing RPG. Really unique. I don't know if this is the "best" but it's certainly the most interesting on the system by far, I've played it a few hours. It's a japanese game but there is a translation (http://www.romhacking.net/translations/3364/)
Sega CD:
Links The Challenge of Golf - Easily the best golf game on this system.
DOS:
Links 386 - For it's time it had excellent graphics and it was kind of one of those "who has the most badass pc" kinda games right when it came out.
These are the ones I've played and liked. Haven't extensively gone to tons of other systems and haven't played loads of golf games. I have simple taste.
