2 axis, 2 button joystick with no D-pad

Unread post by Mattymzo »

Hi, I have an old 2 button, 2 axis Gravis game port joystick attached to a mayflash USB adapter. The MiSTer recognizes the device as a valid HID device. However when I try to complete the joystick mapping in MiSTer, I’m forced to at least define a button for RIGHT on the d-pad...with only 2 buttons available, this is kind of a killer.

Is there any way to skip the D-pad assignment? Most buttons can be skipped during the mapping process but the RIGHT d-pad (and perhaps others) can’t.

Alternatively, is there any way to manually construct the mapping files? Maybe I can bypass that d-pad stuff that way?
