At the moment it seems there are differences between MiST and MiSTer BBC Cores. Hopefully with this updated .mmb it gives a quick way to test if Core changes work.

I just checked and the 5 screens of Prince I saw were fine on MiSTer. You got 'Master' selected?

@cathode Nice! are your changes in latest MiST GitHub Core?

I have also checked on my MiSTer setup and I confirm no graphics issues at all.

@KnC thanks for spotting that. This error would have been on the original .mmb whenever that was created. There are so many games I don't think they have all been tested.

The disks are physically contained within the .mmb so I will try and get you some commands to type in order to run them and then get it fully working from the Menu in v1.3 :)

Thanks for the reply there is no rush Higgy it is not like there is a lack of games to play on the MiSTer
But will look forward to the update at some time :)

Yie Ar Kung-Fu:
ESCAPE from the MENU (ESC)
*DIN 137
CHAIN "YIE_AR"

Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2:
ESCAPE from the MENU (ESC)
*DIN 136
CHAIN "YIE_AR"

NOTES: These need to be run in BBC MODEL B Mode, otherwise you get corrupted text & bad Health Bars
These seem to launch immediately and don't seem to give the intro to provide Key Guides

The '_' is the long line (Unshifted £), not the standard MINUS sign - it's the key next to 'RETURN' and above 'RIGHT SHIFT'
This does not display as Underscore, but instead as a long minus sign.

Yie Ar Kung-Fu:
Z - Left
X - Right
* - Up
? - Duck
RETURN - Kick
SHIFT - Punch
ESCAPE - Return to hi-scores
DELETE - Pause
COPY - Restart
While in pause mode, 'Q' and 'S' will turn the sound off and on.

Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2: (Same keys as above)
T - Replenish Energy

Eeh, I'm pretty dum as it seems; where do I put the .mmb archive (I've tried inside 'games' folder -no go).

Please lend a hand, as I'd very much enjoy returning back to my youth with the beeb.

[with BeebEM, it was pretty much a question of copying an image of the DFS of your choice, and then chaining, or *running the image file of any program]

Can a 'hold-my-hand' guide be created for us clueless people?

Thank you!

All you need to do is rename the file so the extension reads VHD. Then the MiSTer can read it so you can mount it within the menus.

To make things even simpler and get your MMB to auto run when you launch the BBC Micro core then name it as 'BOOT.VHD' and place it in the 'Fat/Games/BBCMicro' (on your main internal card - the one on the DE10), as well as select Autostart. You'll need to save your settings to make this permanent.

If you dont want to use Autostart then hold SHIFT+CTRL+F11 to launch the VHD.

Hope this helps.

PS if you wish to keep the extension as MMB then you need to have these files on the Secondary SD card, the one attached to the IO board (if you have one), but simply renaming them as VHD and storing them in the usual 'Fat/Games/BBCMicro' (DE10 slot) works just as well.

...keeb implementation for the beeb core, leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately :(

Anyone happen to have an overlay of an ANSI keyboard onto the [84-key was it?] BBC B one?

Is there an easy way of making your own .mmb collection? Can I just add the disk files with MMBImager, or do I also have to create a new Menu?

There's instructions at the link above. I am hoping there is an easier way though as that is too much hassle for my planned project :(

@akeley and Douglas it's a 'right of passage' to be able to update the menu

You can just copy files with MMBImager. There are loads of empty slots. Look at +320.
Then press ESC when the normal MMB has loaded and then it's *DIN disk number and *CAT

Something like that. My brain goes into BBC mode once a year

Thanks, mate, but I had seen that thread earlier and it's the reason I asked here...made my head hurt :)
I guess it's not really as complicated as it seems, but to do what I want (sort games according to release year), it'd be way too time consuming, there are too many entries.

I've just tried to dump some disks into a vhd using MMBImager, and it does work. Thing is, you'd need to populate the mmb, then make a list of what's where, and then go through the *DISK / *CAT / CHAIN/*EXEC/*RUN routine for each game. A bit cumbersome, but it is a workaround of sorts.

EDIT: @higgy, only just saw your post, yeah I took your vhd, cleared it, and now keep it on the side in case i want to run stuff which is not on your collections. I'll pass on the menu for now ;)
