3rd Party USB Hub Support

Has anyone seen any issues with a 3rd party USB hub daisied off the official USB hub?
General idea is:
MiSTer > Official USB hub > USB switcher > 3rd party USB hub > USB devices
Other devices------------------^
Just so I can use the one keyboard and mouse for different things, but currently it'll work with anything else plugged into the switch, but not the MiSTer.
Doesn't feel like a driver issue, maybe a power or timing problem on the USB side that the MiSTer doesn't cope with?

I use a USB switcher for my keyboard and mouse; didn't have any issues with it.

Can I ask what brand/model? The one I use is one of the regular cheap ones Amazon sells; a UGreen 4-host USB switch, and it's worked perfectly with several machines. If there's another one out there that works better I've no problem swapping out

If you're going to go down the path of USB hubs I'd strongly suggest powered, you don't want to be trying to draw too much power off the mister itself. I have a powered 8 port USB hub and have no issues, direct off the de10 board itself.
Some USB keyboards might draw a fair bit of power if they have various LEDs, programmable buttons, etc.

The hub is powered, but I'll try with a different powered hub, see if that makes any difference. I was just wondering if there were any known compatibility issues before I went chasing cables down the back of my desk!

Thanks, I'll take a look. And also some more investigation. It's not worked properly with the MiSTer ever, until tonight, and I've no idea why.
