Different PC Speaker Settings Available?

So, there are a handful of older DOS games that just use PC Speaker for sound effects that I thought sounded wrong on the ao486 core, but it turns out some DOS computers produce this sound effect.
For example, here is what I’m used to the first Commander Keen sounding like: https://youtu.be/iwHYy33bZFE
And here is the sound I’m experiencing: https://youtu.be/7sZLNAo9ZyU Not terrible, but rough and a bit grating on the ears.
This has me a bit confused, since this game doesn’t have any sound options except for turning the sound on or off. To make it sound like the first video I linked, does anyone know if I need to tweak some settings on the OSD? Or do I need to install an updated driver for PC Speaker?
