Is there a way to check the temp of the DE-10? I have a basic heat sink and Noctua, but how big of a problem is heat? I have my board in a smallish case, and I was wondering how worried I should be.

I've yet to see a confirmed thermally-related issue on MiSTer, with or without heatsink or fan. Thermal controls for the DE10 appear to be a solution in search of a problem.

Couple of things I remember mentioned in the past about this:

• The DE-10 Nano Mister uses some kind of industrial grade chip able to withstand high temps like 100c

• There is no thermistor on the Mister or a register to obtain the temp

• Some cores have been reported as having stability issues due to heat (Amiga / ao486)

• Heatsink and fan have been proven sufficient to reduce any worries

• It has been stated to push air onto the heatsink as a preferred config

• Buy (3) and keep 2 spares while you can before Intel wises up

• The always awesome JackBurton AKA MisterAddons measured temps with his new passive cooled cases, good cases, great stuff

Absolute min/max operating temperature is listed at -55 to 125 deg C.

That is for the FPGA chip itself. Other components on the DE10-Nano may not be so forgiving.
