Anyone else notice that the hi score saves in Metal Slug don't always work. I noticed the other day because I reached my hi score and it was close to 1 million points so it stood out to me. Next time I fired it up the score had disappeared and had reverted back to 885,000. It seems like it's a bit hit and miss when it comes to saving.

Was this using AES or MVS Mode?
Also, did you have the Memory Card function enabled?

MVS mode and the memory card is enabled. My high score table is filled up with my scores. It just seems it's hit and miss when it decides to save them.

Just checked the game again. Yesterday had a score over 1 million and it didn't save

In most cores, you need to a) turn on auto save and b) open the OSD to trigger the saving to disk. I don’t know for sure that the same is the case for Neo Geo, but see if you can get that reliably working?

I have auto save turned on. It does actually save some high scores. It just seems to pick and chose when it wants to do it.

Right, but does it ever *not* save the scores if you open the OSD before resetting? If so, that might be a bug worth reporting. Opening the OSD is mandatory for it to work at the moment.

I think you cracked the solution Limi. It's saving all the time now. I guess I was having a few games then just switching the whole system off without bringing up the menu first. Thanks for the help.
