Im new to The Mister only got it this week so im still learning
my main issue is trying to update anything keep getting the same message
/tmp/script: line 4:/media/fat/scripts input/output error
i have no idea what this means so hoping someone can help me to get my Mister up and running

First thing I would do: check the lock switch on the SD card. Make sure it isn't in write protected mode.

MicroSD cards don't have write protect switches.

It's hard to say what the actual issue is, but sounds like the SD card might be bad. I imagine if it were out of space or had a permissions issue, it would say so.
