EDIT 2021 Jan 24: This is resolved with the release of MegaCD 2021-01-24.

Looks like the latest update as caused auto-region to not work, as I now have to set it to JP first, then open the game - but even then, I get an error when the game loads telling me I can't play it in this console. Interesting new screens nonetheless... maybe I need to tweak something? Can anyone else confirm? If not, I'll try and grab some screenshots.

I am getting the same error message with this update. I am only able to load USA games now. I get the same error setting my region to JP/EU.

Also, Auto Cart Region option changes aspect ratio for some reason.

Same here, although all the games boot correctly. I have tried with a few Japanese titles and they all booted even without changing the region.

What is Autocard Region good for?

I replaced original BIOS with EU_MegaCD2_30031993_regionfree , MD5 1dc80e5bcfb91e067ca0745b3c18adb6 -> boot.rom

I can load any country and it still works. Autocard Region is disabled for me.

Which is the best compatible BIOS to use for all regions? I updated the new fix today and 2021-01-24 and autoregion seems to be working for your default BIOS. If I choose JP/EU I still get the error about my console is not for this region. If I choose USA which is my default BIOS then my EU/JP games won't load as I get a CD player screen. I tried the EU_MegaCD2_30031993_regionfree BIOS and all region games load but alot of them freeze at the Sonic screen.

I use the BIOS US_SEGA_CDX_930907_regionfree.bin because it autoboots the games.
