Commodore PET core

Hi everyone
Back in the old days, I had a Commodore PET 8096 with dual disk drive and printer; quite a machine! Sold it for next to nothing, which is a pity as it's probably just about an antique now!
I've been looking at the PET core on MiSTer and it's obviously brilliant, but there's a few things that would make it absolutely brilliant.
One is support for D64 images, and the other would be support for more of the PET family.
It currently loads TAP files fine, but I can't seem to save to TAP. I created a blank TAP image and the command SAVE "Test" sounds like it is saving but I can't load the program back in. May be I'm doing something wrong, or perhaps saving is not possible?
