4K TV MiSTer Text Cut Off
I have an LG C9 OLED 4k TV and have set my ini video mode to 1920 x 1080 60Hz, which looks great on cores, however all MiSTer text (like text while running scripts) and my wallpapers seem to have the edges (all sides, top an bottom) cut off a bit. Is this because the TV is 4k or is there another setting I need to change?

Re: 4K TV MiSTer Text Cut Off
Thank you so much. I thought I HAD done that first, but clearly the way LG labels it, they are trying to trick you! I'll post the link in case it goes down.
Settings > All Settings > Settings > Picture > Aspect Ratio Settings, and there you will see a Just Scan option that is set to auto by default.
You want to turn this to ON. (not off as you would think, but rather on)
Note that on LG displays it is not on the first set of menus, you have to dive down into All Settings to get these options.
While you are there you might want to change the Aspect ratio to Original so you can see exactly what the computer is putting out.

Just as the author of that blog post, I find it baffling that overscan is still enabled by default on modern TVs. TV manufacturers must assume DVD players are more likely to plugged into the HDMI ports than PCs and modern gaming consoles.

Yeah, it seems like "auto" makes it that game consoles and some PCs don't enable the auto scan, I'm not sure what signal must be sent to the TV to have it default to turning overscan off, but I guess the MiSTer doesn't send it.

Finding this setting on my CX was a major PITA. Thanks for posting this.

Made an account to confirm this method worked for me as well.
My TV is a 4k Samsung UN55RU7100F, had to go to Settings -> Picture -> Picture Size Settings -> Fit to Screen -> *Change to ON*. After that it displayed just fine. Assuming the OSD for other Samsung TVs will be similar.

I think the preferred way to do this is to set the given input to "PC mode".

Thanks! I had the exact same problem on my LG C1 and that fixed it.XtraSmiley wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 2:41 am Thank you so much. I thought I HAD done that first, but clearly the way LG labels it, they are trying to trick you! I'll post the link in case it goes down.
