I'm looking to buy a new ultrawide monitor for my PC and have been specifically looking at the LG 34GN850. I'm hoping to buy a monitor that is perfect for both PC games AND using the MiSTer.
The monitor supports freesync so I believe there is a good chance it will support most refresh rates from the MiSTer cores. For example, I want to play ao486 games at their native 75 Hz refresh, or other cores at their strange refresh rates.
Does anybody have any experience with this monitor?
Basically I'd like MiSTer to output 1440p (4:3 or native aspect ratio) but also at the native refresh rates of the cores/games. This would allow me to have a perfect monitor for both PC gaming and also using the MiSTer.
LG 34GN850 - 3440x1440 - Ultrawide monitor for MiSTer?

I have that monitor. Works great, displays all the weird console/arcade/etc refresh rates

I have an AOC monitor with that resolution. I like to use in in split screen mode alongside my PC, even if that only gives me 1720x1440 resolution for each side.
I got used to switch my PC resolution quickly (from 3440 to 1720), wish there was an utility to do it with a button.
I haven't yet tried 1920x1440 or some other unusual resolution on the MiSTer. 1720x1440 looks nice on integer scaling (even though it does not fill the screen).

I've just found this software: https://funk.eu/hrc/
It gives you hotkeys to switch between two resolutions (in my case 3440x1440 and 1720x1440).
I'd love to also have a shortcut to make my display switch modes (activate/deactivate PBP mode) but I guess that's not possible.
