Hi All:

I'm not much of a linux user so I need some help getting my wifi adapter working.

First things first-
1. I'm using the USB Hub from MisterAddons (https://misteraddons.com/products/usb-hub-v2-1)
2. The green light on the USB hub is on next to where the wifi adapter is plugged in
3. I'm using the wifi adapter from MisterAddons (https://misteraddons.com/products/wifi-adapter) <- more on this in a bit
4. I used SD-Installer-Win64_MiSTer (https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SD-Inst ... n64_MiSTer) to load up my SD card

Okay, now I can NOT get my wifi adapter working at all... so hunting down bits of information here and there to figure out what's going on.

1. I ran lsusb from the terminal and found out the adapter is a Realtek RTL8192EU (ID 0BDA:818B)
2. I ran this script from MisterAddons (https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Scripts ... rs/wifi.sh) and it pukes at line 143 (printMsgs "dialog" "No wlan0 interface detected"), which makes me think it can't recognize the adapter - might this be a driver problem?

At this point I'm a bit stuck. FYI just today I ran the update_all script (I assume that will update my MiSTer version to current along with all core updates?). Any thoughts/advice?

Reposting from Discord in case anyone else has a similar issue:

I dumped a list of all the USB device IDs supported by the drivers compiled in to MiSTer's kernel a while back. Your's isn't listed there so it won't be associated with a driver: viewtopic.php?t=407
You'll also see in that thread that I can't recommend using an RTL8192EU based device as performance is quite poor even if you were to get it working

WiteWulf's info he linked to was super helpful. Not only did it deal with the same chipset I had, but also mentioned an alternative chipset he used and had positive experience with, and other findings with regard to native drivers available on the MiSTer.

In addition, someone on the Discord linked to the MiSTer Wiki WiFi page which mentioned specific wifi adapters confirmed to work:

I weighed WiteWulf's positive findings from using the rtl8192cu chipset vs bandwidth, and for an extra $10 I could theoretically double my bandwidth with a Edimax EW-7822ULC confirmed to work via 5GHz, so that's the one I bought on Amazon. I should have it in a couple of days and I'll post my results then.
