Hi there,
I have noticed that, with today's core (20210504) I can't load a .ROM/.rom from the /media/fat/C64 directory anymore.
In fact, the core doesn't load my boot.rom anymore, thus booting with the original C64 system instead of JiffyDOS (which my boot.rom has).
Any idea on what has happened? I have read the github docs on mister-devel and I can't see any changes to the C64 bios handling...
Thanks!
C64 core 05/04/2021: Not able to load custom boot.rom anymore [Solved]
Re: C64 core 05/04/2021: Not able to load custom boot.rom anymore
Rename boot.rom to anything else (e.g. "JiffyDOS.rom") and load it from hardware options menu.
Latest release added an option to load KERNAL rom from the menu, allowing to store several different system roms instead of just a single boot.rom. A minor inconvenience is that rom loading prompt ignores "boot" files so it can't use existing image without renaming.

I hope this isn't too off topic but has anyone been able to get DophinDOS to work on this core? I've tired all the ones I could find online but none of them seem to work. Then again I don't think you can load custom 1541 kernals so it's probably not possible but I'm not sure. I've heard DophinDOS is a lot better than JiffyDOS

Use the ones in the Release folder on Github.djsquare wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:05 am I hope this isn't too off topic but has anyone been able to get DophinDOS to work on this core? Yes sir that sure did the trick. I guess I don't fully understand how this works without changing the 1541's kernal rom but I suppose the core doesn't actually use a 1541 but I don't know what I'm talking about. On a real c64 you would need to change both the c64 and the 1541 to get JiffyDOS to and with DohpinDOS you'd also need an extra cable for.....something I don't remember.NML32 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:13 amUse the ones in the Release folder on Github.djsquare wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 12:05 am I hope this isn't too off topic but has anyone been able to get DophinDOS to work on this core? Re: [SOLVED] C64 core 05/04/2021: Not able to load custom boot.rom anymore
The Dolphin DOS rom is a combined rom of the C64 KERNAL, Basic Rom and 1541-II rom. You can see this by their size the Dolphin DOS rom is 48KB and the Speed Dos rom ist 32KB.
In order to get things working you have to enable the parallel port in the MiSTer menu.
The core simulates the complete 1541-II.
