Cubase

Anyone use Cubase on the Atari core? I'm wondering if anybody has any hints and tips for getting everything set up properly? I've tried a few different versions but each one has issues.

Version 2 (MCA Crack) works great but, but there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it sending MIDI resets when you change tracks, which cause my EMU E4X to mess up all the settings. Would be perfect if not for that, but can't use it for this reason

Version 3 (MCA crack): random crashes and bugs make this pretty much unusable.

Cubase Audio 3 (CafCrack): also works really well but sometimes crashes if when I move parts around. Has an automatic backup feature so this is what I am currently using, I'm using the MegaSTE core with maxed out RAM and TOS 2.06.

Also I think there are later versions of Cafcrack out there, bit they are really hard to find? If anybody could point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful. And any advice on core configuration would be great too.

Thanks!

Wonder if there's room to implement the cubase dongles on FPGA so you could skip the crack. :P

Yeah that be ideal. Not holding out hope for that one though! Maybe something where you could plug a real dongle into the MiSTer could work. Of course then I would have to find a dongle...

On a different note, does anybody have experience with the cracked versions of Notator out there? I'm kinda loathe to jump onto yet another sequencer, but might be worth doing if it's stable?

I'm kinda hijacking the thread :) but I'm looking for a simple way to send chords progressions to external MIDI hardware (like a Volca FM which is a good piece of hardware but has a super limited sequencer).
Which piece of ST software would you advise ? (never used an ST MIDI app :))
Cheers !

You need to get the 3.01 crack on the waybackmachine from atarimusic.net
It's solid af.

I thought my suggestion was completely ridiculous! Incredible to see this happening.

Sorgelig also implemented it into the core, at the moment it is still only in the unstable nightly. Seems like the main will be updated too to support this.

That's what my PR was for. That's how github works. sorg added the toggle.
