SD2SNES SRM files on MiSTer

Unread post by C-R-T »

Hello!

Is it possible to use the SD2SNES SRM files on Mister? I tried copying all my SRM files to /media/fat/saves/SNES but they do not work. No games allow me to "continue" my saved games. Why is this?

I'm pretty sure you just need to change the extension from .srm to .sav.

EDIT: A Reddit user Emk_IronFist made a script to automate the process, but I have not used this script so I can't promise it is safe. Definitely backup your saves first.

You need to change over the file extension for the saves
It is my great regret that we live in an age that is proud of machines that think and suspicious of people who try to.

Or if you're comfortable with command line stuff, you can just do a "rename *.srm *.sav" in a Windows command prompt from the save directory. Preferably on a copy just in case something goes wrong.
