Qbert Vflip
Is there a fix for this?

There's a Github issue for this here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Arcade- ... r/issues/3BabaYaga326 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 10:47 pm The Vflip in the Qbert core seems to only mirror flip the game (backwards). I'd like to play this on my vertical monitor, but it only orientates itself upside down in the presect core state and the Vflip option just flips the image backwards.

Can You test this?BabaYaga326 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 10:47 pm The Vflip in the Qbert core seems to only mirror flip the game (backwards). It seems to work on the 15Khz SCART input of my TFT display. It does do something odd with the position of the Q*bert logo (this is also visible when using HDMI). And the image is partly clipped on the SCART input, but that is probably normal for an arcade core.neurorulez wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 8:17 amCan You test this?BabaYaga326 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 10:47 pm The Vflip in the Qbert core seems to only mirror flip the game (backwards). I think that board needs both flip (V & H) to flip the screen.
If works ok i will make a pull request. I dont have an analog TV to test it now.
Would love to see some fixes/updates on Qbert.
Speaking of Q*Bert, would it be possible to implement Faster, Harder, More Challenging Q*bert into the existing core? I assume it was intended to be a ROM update for existing Q*Bert cabinets.
Ditto Mello Yello Q-Bert =)
Did you ever get round to bringing these improvements over to the MiSTer core?
Unfortunately no, not yet... but it's only a motivation problem. It was a direct translation of the PCB so it's hard to get back to it.
Just booted up Qbert and it appears the H/V clipping might have been addressed, but now the game can't be rotated vertically 180 degrees to be upright on my monitor.
Qbert cubes too.
Hi guys!
Just another observation of mine. Apart from the issues mentioned above I noticed another thing. I have an arcade monitor where you can position the picture where you like - but with the game Qbert some line on the left side are simply cut off. I can see this clearly when I try to center the picture.
It is not that some lines are hidden because it is centered too far left but the fact is that some lines of the graphics are simply cut off
2 Questions
A. Does anybody else notice this?
B. Was this on the original pcb the same?
regards,

Try deleting your cfg file, I don't have any issues with rotation.

Deleting the CFG files associated doesn't resolve the issue.
I can get Horz or Vert orientaion and the ability to V-flip, but not rotate 180 degrees for an upright vertical image.
I see what the problem is...
1) The QBert_20230315.rbf core does not have the H/V clipping behavior....but the Vflip option does not rotate the game vertically and upright. It only mirrors the image left/right.
2) The QBert_20211123.rbf core was introduced a couple years ago to fix the Vflip issue, but it then introduced the clipping issue I reported in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3664
Yes, but mirroring the image makes sense in no situation
Any updates on adding a 180 degree rotation for this core (Qbert, Qbert Qubes, Mad Planets)?
Has this core been abandoned?
