Replacing the SPDIF LED

The SPDIF LED on the IO board I bought seems to be larger than 5mm.
In fact, it is in the way of the plug attachment.
I would like to change the LED to a 3mm one, but I don't have the knowledge. Can I use any red LED?
Do you have any suggestions on what I should buy?
Thank you very much for your help.

From the bill of materials here https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... mbly-(DIY):
LED Red (small) ~650nm:

The one suggested there has these specs:
Wavelength/Colour Temperature: 648 nm
Luminous Intensity: 131.5 mcd
Viewing Angle: 16 deg
If - Forward Current: 20 mA
Vf - Forward Voltage: 1.8 V
Power Rating: 100 mW
Length: 3.2 mm
Width: 3.2 mm
Height: 4.5 mm
LED Size: T-1 (3 mm)

I think a lot of red LEDs will be close to those specs.

if it is just blocking stuff from fully seating in the audio jack, you should be able to gently bend it further back.
