Cheats with patched ROMs?

For fluid gameplay I patched the Gradius III ROM.

Without the patch cheats are available but as soon as patched the cheat menu is not available anymore.

Is there any way to enable the cheat menu forthe patched ROMs again?

the only way i could think of is to make a copy of the orig cheat zip and rename the copy the same as the patched rom name

To get back the cheat menu, it is sufficient to rename either the ROM or the ZIP file with the cheats so that the names match. However, the cheats will most likely not work since these SA hacks change the binary code quite a lot.

if it's the SA-1 treated rom it might very well be that memory locations to store values have changed and the cheats need to be recreated?

Renaming the patched ROM does not enable the cheat menu again.

cheats wont show up because the crc-32 hash sum not match with patched rom.

I suspected this. Is there any way to add the patched games to the cheats menu in the next version (only a few anyway)? Or is there any other solution? Gradius III is too hard for me, need at least unlimited lifes…

Did you try changing the checksum in the name of the zip file in the "cheats" folder?

So the way I got my cheats to work with patched roms is to copy the cheat file to my PC and delete it from the SD card. Then I rename the cheat file to match the rom name and add it back in to the SD card. That always gets it to come up. That said, some of the cheats may not work due to patches changing the original rom a bit. That said, most cheats should still work, if not all.
