Monitors showing out of display?

Ive got 2 misters, one in my arcade cabinet, connected via either HDMI or VGA, another on an hdmi monitor but for some reason both are showing "out of display" on the monitor.
I was able to get them running on an old Dell 2007FP but not through HDMI, am I missing something simple? Both monitors are 1080p.

If you are using HDMI->DVI adapter, you need to edit the mister.ini line "dvi_mode=1"
VGA output is going to default to 240p which may not work with LCDs (and certainly won't look good), if you want 1080p be sure to use "vga_scaler=1"
Otherwise maybe provide some more info. Like can you even get the initial menu to display?

Probably some residue in your config from using VGA. Try to use the
default ini from the wiki, I think it should work on HDMI out of the box.

Not vga_scaler=1 but vga_scaler=2
vga_scaler=1 should only be used if vga_scaler=2 doesn't work correctly or at least if that is even possible.

Think you're getting confused with vsync_adjust=2. Don't think vga_scaler=2 does anything.
At this point I'd even set vsync_adjust=0 just to see if you can get a picture.

I have the same issue with the latest MISTer release and have not found out anything how to get it back to work.
It is starting good but loosing sync intermittently. That is quite new for me, and I never had it before. I now choose different kabels to the same Monitor, but no success.
What did it resolve for you?

Okay, my issue could get fixed with the help of this:

The use of the repeater solved the voltage issues of the De10-Nano.
I ordered this one:
