I don't think utubers can influence corporate pricing of modern products. Well, at least I hope things aren't that bad yet

They don't have to... Just try to buy a DE10-Nano these days. Mouser lead time is 50 weeks, Digikey say July. No stock direct from Terasic, either. that leaves you with limited stock held by specialist MiSTer resellers. An increase in demand for this limited stock will inevitably lead to an increase in price.

Sure, but that has been going on for quite a while now, and is directly caused by the pandemic/chip shortage/etc...not youtube reviewers.

I don't know why, but MVG could spend 6 minutes explaining the intricacies of wheat toast and I would come away feeling like I've learned something important.

I was thinking the price increase would be due to supply issues/demand and MVG has 600k subs so if 1% decided to try buy one that's still a lot of demand.

Decent vid. I feel the focus on Jammix rather than the more basic MiSTer stack makes it more confusing to newcomers though.

Surprising that he of all YTers hesitated to get into MiSTer given that he's usually pretty on top of cutting-edge retro developments.

LTT's low-effort shortcircuit video had more impact on demand in one day than MVG's ever will. But yeah De-10 stock is not looking good as knowledge and demand increase. I wonder if something that was funded for university use is really sustainable for larger adoption even in something as niche as retro community.

It was awesome to see MVG deep his toe in the Mister project! Very good video indeed.

Joe Tago sounds like a cool dude.

i hope he keeps tinkering with the mister maybe we gonna see more mister related videos and ... who knows ... maybe a new cores
