CRT filters and Resolution

Hi Everyone,
I have been playing a bit with the various CRT filters, in particular the ones for Scanlines and even if I'm using integer scaling, the scanlines seem to be a bit off (uneven).
I have been able to reach a point where it is not glaringly obvious (like with non Integer scaling), but it is still bothering me.
My best guess is that this happens due to the resolution of my screen possibly being different from the resolution those filters where built for.
I am using a 4:3 LCD with a 1280x1024 resolution.
Do you know if that is the case? If it is, are there any filters for this resolution, or am I missing something else?

Why would you use these filters if you're already using a CRT? I can imagine they'd clash with the already present physical properties of your CRT.

Because I am dumb and don't know how to write LCD

Can you try to run 1280*960 and check if the scanlines are still off? This way it would be possible to see if it is in fact because of the resolution.

You mean changing the resolution in the MiSTer INI file?

Yes. it is not the native resolution of your display so it may not look perfect, but it should be sufficient to see if it makes a difference.

Alright, when looking at the resolution I realized I was feeding a 1080 signal to the monitor (that then was converting it to the native resolution).
Changing it to the default resolution of my screen fixed the uneven scanlines effect, but the shadow masks look significantly worse... I guess they are made for 1080p and dont work as well on lower resolutions?

I didn't try the shadow masks at a lower resolution. I think they are made for 1080p

Many of them assume that 1080p = 5x cut integer scale. So its possible that 1024p cuts you down to 4x mask sizes. Still some of the simpler masks should be usable (like RCYB stripes).
