Colors Off, Cable or Port Issue?

So when I hook up my pvm with the vga to component cable the color is off ( I believe it's the blue because when I remove the blue cable the image looks the same)

My first question is, is this more likely to be a io board vga port problem or a cable problem. I'm leaning cable because if I bend it significantly I can get it to look good but when I let go it's gone again but I suppose the port could be also jiggling when I do that.

My second question is will any vga to component cable work or is there something special about the MiSTer one?
