Hi all!

My Lg Studioworks 700S Svga CRT Monitor with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 / 60 works perfectly well with all computer cores using

Code: Select all

forced_scandoubler=1
but I've got a problem with ao486: the displayed screen is very very tiny, what can is the problem? I've already expand out and center the image at max using my monitor controls. I have latest versions of ao486 core and of MiSTer binary.

I have the same monitor but I don't have the issue you have. Here are some of my settings:

I have forced_scandoubler=1
vga_scaler=0
vscale_mode=1
vscale_border=0
direct_video=1
video_mode=6

I'm not sure about the other computer cores but from what I understand, the ao486 core is forced through the scaler so forced_scandoubler doesn't do anything. Therefore it is also my understanding that you should configure the video_mode for the ao486 core.

Try to setup this if you are using a CRT: viewtopic.php?p=44771#p44771 That should get you the exact resolution you need for your CRT. Also, make sure you go into Audio & Video settings in the core and mess with both the Aspect Ratio and Vsync.

Also, you need to update your Top 300 pack to the latest version. You have hearts for favorites and those should be "!" to indicate that there are issues with those games in the core. It means you are missing more than 100 changes to the VHD for game compatibility. ;)

Thanks, I’ve tried to install the “unstable” versions that support that special syntax. About Top 300 pack, it’s strange is not updated because I’ve downloaded it from Archive.org…

I don't push updates back to the archive version, you need to run the update script from github for it. https://github.com/flynnsbit/Top300_upd ... 00_updates

Ok, just today the updated versions of MiSTer main and Ao486 that supports dynamic video modes are out, now it all works perfectly with these settings:

Code: Select all

[video=320x200]
forced_scandoubler=0
vga_scaler=1
video_mode=640,16,96,48,400,12,2,35,25175,0,1
vscale_mode=2

[video=720x400@60.0]
forced_scandoubler=0
vga_scaler=1
video_mode=720,15,108,51,400,11,2,32,28322,0,1
