New DE10-Nano Testing Questions

Finally managed to get hold of a brand new DE-10 Nano which has just arrived and would to ask:
* Is it possible to test if it works fine with no addons boards connected?
* Being in the UK the supplied PSU is the usual L.T.E 5v @ 2A, could I use a universal adaptor to power via supplied item just to see if the hardware is working?
Thank you all.

Sure, these are the
cores that require additional SDRAM.
You will still need an OTG cable/hub to plug in a keyboard/controller mind you. The stock power supply should be fine for a bog standard keyboard (no RGB lighting) or a single wired controller.

As I was recently told, try the GBA games, they don't need the SDRAM, 486 stuff works too.

Gba games, I think, you have to change the setting so it uses ddr3 instead of sdram.

That's great to hear, I have a cheap tiny micro keyboard with nothing special on it I can at least use just to test until I get the extra's needed.
Thank you all for the great help. Looking forward to making a fill retro system from this soon.

The cores section of

will inform you as to which need extra memory
