I have one of these mini usb hubs I was considering using:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/2991
Basically just want to use for Wifi, Bluetooth, and a controller. Assume it'll need to be powered but says on that product page: "There is a 1.35mm DC jack port for an external power supply but its connected directly to the 5V line so if you need to externally power, we recommend prying open the case and cutting the red 5V line from the USB connection."
Is it safe to just power daisy chained to the DE-10's DC adapter (like the USB daughter board) ? Is it necessary to cut the red 5v line as instructed ?
Has anyone used a simliar hub on the mister with success ?
Thanks!

Re: Adafruit Mini USB Hub
Hmm ok, maybe I'll have to experiment further, but plugging in my wifi and bluetooth dongle worked for a short period but would then basically just drop out / stop appearing in the mister status bar.

Re: Adafruit Mini USB Hub
This described behaviour is usually indicative of the USB devices being under powered.
