No WiFi After Running update_all Script

When I first setup my new Mister I was able to connect to wifi and then ran the update_all script on it. Since it finished that and rebooted I cannot get a wifi connection again. I either get a "failed to bring up wlan0" message or it just fails to connect to my wifi network after I put the password in (which I know is correct and works fine on my laptop).

Problem is I am nowhere near an ethernet connection so that isn't an option and I can't ftp into the Mister to put any roms on it. The case I have the Mister in makes it really difficult to get the SD card in and out so I don't really want to be removing it each time I want to put roms on it. It's a bit of a doorstop at the moment because I didn't really get it for arcade cores.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or is WiFi broken in the latest update?

Actually I am starting to suspect it actually wasn't the update all script (just a coincidence) and the wifi usb dongle is failing. It keeps coming up in the devices and then disappearing again over and over.

Although lsusb command does show it connected (Ralink Technology, Corp. MT7601U Wireless Adapter)

Won't hurt to try to swap it around with other ports and dongles. Mine used to either drop off constantly but after I did that it's ok now.

Tried all usb ports. No difference. The usb hub is working though as I have other devices connected just fine.

If I run the script from the command line I just get "Failed to bring up wlan0"

Wifi dropping in and out can be power supply not strong enough, what amp power supply do you have?

Seems a lot of people have issues with WiFi on this thing.

I did the suggested fixes in this thread viewtopic.php?p=15877#p15877

Now the Wifi "seems" to be constantly connected but it actually isn't. On the information page it is constantly switching ip address between 192.168.1.155 and 192.168.1.156 and I can't ftp anything to it.

you have 2 on the same wifi ?

If you do then you need to give each its own mac address or they will conflict

No I have one Mister. I am talking about on the info page on the Mister where it shows the IP address. It constantly switched between the two IP addresses every 2-3 seconds.

For some unknown reason the Mister has stopped constantly switching between the two ip addresses and is now using 192.168.1.156. However I cannot connect to it and have now noticed that my router thinks it is connected to it with ip address 192.168.1.155. I can't connect to it with that ip address either. I have tried resetting the router but the same problem persists.

Anyone got any ideas?
