Most searches come up with PAL the video standard, but didn't the Amiga 1000 use
Programmable Array Logic (PAL) chips (just for some small purpose, not the customs), a predecessor of FPGA? I always thought that was cool.

That's the first I've ever heard about it, and I was kind of an Amiga nut back in the day. Do you have any idea what they were used for?

Almost every machine has been using those since early 80s. Not just amiga.
