Request for Advice About Dual Ram Setup

Unread post by AmintaMister »

Hi all!

I own a MiSTer setup with analog board. I have a second - spare Nano 10 + case + usb hub so I'm considering to buy a digital board with dual ram like this (https://ultimatemister.com/product/dual ... grade-kit/) to assemble a second MiSTer.

But is it worth it? Are there some core that don't run on dual ram setup? What problem can I have to send the video to my 15khz CRT Trinitron Tv and my 31khz CRT Monitor? I guess that on Hdmi it works well...

Thanks in advance!

The second ram is actually used by Saturn, Jaguar and PSX, mostly in main development of some cores. We have not absolutely sure if Saturn will need the secondary memory module when finished, and hope not because we may have plans for secondary GPIO slot ;)

Resuming the Digital Editions will be a great upgrade, even if you need the CRT or VGA. DAC's, new HDMI to SCART / BNC or 1084s cables have a great compatibility in direct video mode. Many options exist, you can always choose and swap the boards anytime. We do MiSTer modular exactly because of this...

Kind regards
Ricardo
