Hi,
I have noticed that analog video from IO board is missing top 8 lines of picture when outputing resolution is 240p. This is clearly visible in 240p Test Suit's Grid screen, where the upper red zone is cut in half, but also in overscan test where I found it is actually 8 lines.
To make things clear it is not an overscan of my TV as I intentionnaly set it into underscan via service menu to rule this out.
I am wondering if this is "by desing" (I don't have real PSX to check it), a limitation of the analog IO board or maybe my TV?
Yes, I know 8 lines seems like not big deal but I think there is something more into it as games which output 240p, e.g. Tomb Raider, are suspiciously streched vertically.
I would be greatfull for any insight into this "feature".
Many thanks in advance.
Missing Top 8 Lines of Analog Video
Re: Missing Top 8 Lines of Analog Video
Tomb Raider was always kinda funky looking, even on real hardware. I think the devs calculated the aspect ratio for 50hz, where the vertical resolution is higher.
Re: Missing Top 8 Lines of Analog Video
Do you have the vertical crop (ie. 216p) option enabled, by any chance? That affects analog output as well, not just HDMI.
