PSX Snax Issue

I'm using a couple of Guncon 1's via SNAX. I see a lot for information on how to get the Guncon 2 working, but sadly nothing for the Guncon 1. Can someone walk me through configuring this? I have the guns connected to the SNAX adapter via the fancy PS1 to HDMI adapters and the composite plug on the SNAX board has both gun's composite ports plugged in. The SNAX adapter is plugged in to the USB port on the IO board. I've set the controller type in the PSX core to Guncon.

Problem is I'm just not getting any input from the guns at all. I feel like there is some specific SNAX config that I'm missing.

I've even tried my standard PSX controller and I'm getting no input from these devices as well, so it's not just a guncon issue.
Is there a way to verify the function of the IO boards user port?

I was able to get help on the Discord forum. Make sure you set the controller type to SNAC and not just digital or dualshock to make your SNAC setup work.
