Safe to hotplug SNAC devices?

I'm wondering, is it safe to swap controllers into your SNAC connector (the level shifter thing) while your MiSTer is on? I'm guessing it is but does anyone know?
It it safe to Hotswap controllers on the Snac while the MiSTer is on?
Electrically I want to say yes, the majority of the time you should be fine. But I would exit out of the core first before Swapping adapters.
I would be careful how you pull/unplug your Snac adapters as USB A isn't that robust
