My I/O board didn't come with a 5v jumper. Can I just use a really short wire?

it has come to my attention that it's called a micro jumper and not a 5v jumper. I also found one in a box of stuff I forgot I had, but I still think it would be useful to know for those who don't have one

They are indeed jumpers, however the correct type has a 2.54mm pitch.

My board didn't come with a jumper either. But there was a 0 Ohm resistor soldered on the bottom of the pcb.
I removed it and put a jumper, I now can switch between 3.3v and 5v for the fan
